Additional Information for Students
IDENTITY CARD :
College Identity Card is issued to each student at the time of admission. The students will have to get their Identity Cards renewed every year. In case of loss of this card, a duplicate card may be issued on payment of necessary fine.
COLLEGE UNIFORM:
Every student will have to wear Uniform as prescribed by the College authority.
Attendance in classes is compulsory. 20% of weightage of sessional examination will be given to class attendance. Students failing to attend at least 75% of the classes held will be treated as non-collegiate and those failing to attend 60% of the classes will not be allowed to appear in the Final Examination . A non-collegiate student will have to pay Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five Hundred ) as fine.
GENERAL RULES FOR MAINTENANCE OF DISCIPLINE:
The students admitted to this college are expected to maintain high degree of discipline. They must abide by all the Rules and Regulations as laid down by the college authorities. Violation of those rules, non clearance of College Fees, showing discourtesy to the teachers and members of staff in any form, adoption of unfair means in the examination, indulging in ragging, etc. are some of the offences which may lead to disciplinary action like suspension, forced transfer or even expulsion from the college.
ACADEMIC CALENDAR:
The Academic Calendar of the College is prepared by Academic Council in accordance with the Academic Calendar of Gauhati University. Different academic and co curricular activities are carried on according to this calendar as far as practicable.
EXAMINATION:
The college authority strictly adheres to college examinations and promotion rules. Apart from the Final Examinations to be conducted by the AHSEC I Gauhati University, every student of H.S. 1st year, H.S. 2nd year, TDC Classes will have to appear in two sessional Examinations. Appearing in these examinations is compulsory, failing which a student will not be allowed to sit for the final examinations.
CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:
For all round development of the students, the College provides adequate facilities for various co-curricular activities like indoor and outdoor games, debate and symposium, cultural programmes etc. Moreover, lectures and seminars on various topics are also organized regularly.
COLLEGE CANTEEN:
There is a canteen in Kharupetia College campus. The students, teachers and employees of the college can avail the services of the college canteen.
INFORMATION AND CAREER COUNSELLING CELL :
An information and career counseling cell has been formed at Kharupetia College with the aim of helping the students by providing information about various career opportunities. Interested students and alumni of this college may approach this cell for necessary information and career counselling.
GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL CELL:
The College has a Grievance Redressal Cell to look into the grievances of the students, guardians, teachers and employees of the college. The cell takes appropriate steps for redressal of the genuine grievances in accordance with the guidelines framed for this purpose.
EXTENSION EDUCATION CELL :
In order to strengthen college community co- ordination an Extension Education cell was formed at this college. The cell undertake various programmes such as Cleanliness Drive, Yoga session, Free Health Checkup, Environmental Awareness, Aids Awareness, Health & Hygiene Awareness and various community Development Programmes from time to time.
